Meet Emily, Cottonwood's Horseman
Emily's entire life has been dedicated to the equestrian world. She has not only started her own five horses but also assisted others with theirs, showcasing her expertise in all facets of horse training. Her approach goes beyond the norm, rooted in the fundamental principles of horsemanship that form the core of her training program. Her experience spans a range of disciplines, including polo, fox hunting, reining, hunter/jumpers, dressage, and equitation, and she has competed in local shows across both English and Western categories. Emily is adept at helping both you and your horse reach diverse objectives. At present, she is focused on creating a ranch riding and cattle working program, driven by her passion for the educated, adaptable working horse. This program is set to grow over the coming years, with the aim to offer more frequent local and in-home clinics.
The Program
Emily's horsemanship program is designed to establish a solid foundation for every horse and rider. Whether it's starting from scratch or addressing specific gaps, Emily excels in fostering the growth of each horse-rider pair. Groundwork is a cornerstone of her approach, embodying her belief that "what is achieved on the ground reflects in the saddle," a philosophy validated by the success of the horses she trains. The program, built on trust, consistency, and respect, ensures that you and your horse will reach your objectives.
The program offers various participation levels. The "All-Access Pass" has proven most beneficial for owners. Emily provides daily, informal feedback and aims to attend as many of your riding or training sessions as possible. This approach is akin to a daily lesson but without a rigid schedule, offering a more interactive experience that allows for immediate resolution of any issues and introduces riders to new techniques, fostering significant progress for both horse and rider. Additionally, it offers schedule flexibility.
For those who prefer individual lessons, payment and scheduling for the entire month's lessons are required at the month's first lesson. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to qualify for a make-up session. There are no refunds.
