Boarding Information

*Please note, Cottonwood is a Full Service Boarding Facility Only.*
 We DO NOT offer pasture or co-op board.
Our facility is not set up to offer these boarding options.

Board Rate: $600/month 
Board Paid Before the First of the Month: $550
Board Includes:


-Feedings of Poulin Grain and High Quality Hay daily (hay made on premises)
(*Feel free to ask us specifically about our feed schedule and program)
-Beet pulp fed daily
-Supplements & Medications (SmartPak or Pre Mixed if there is more then one)
-Nutrition Management
-Water buckets cleaned daily

-Daily stall cleaning
-Daily Turnout with Hay, Weather Permitting *We Do Not Turn Horses Out Sundays, Can be customized upon request*
-Use of all riding areas
-Regular Worming (Spring & Fall)
-Storage For One Tack Box, Saddle and Bridle Per Stall
-Blanketing & Blanket Changing

**PLEASE NOTE**
At Cottonwood, for the safety of the horses, we REQUIRE that all blankets worn in the stable and for turnout MUST BE COMPLETE
That includes belly straps, chest closures and leg straps and all buckles/closure clips must be in good working condition.
Blankets that do not stay on horses  properly when inside or turned out WILL be REMOVED from horse for their safety and not used.

Cottonwood's Facility

-32 fully matted 12x12 stalls
-Full ventilation and climate controlled stable area
-Individual box fans in every stall during the summer months
-Stable never below forty degrees during the winter months
-Indoor wash stall with year round hot water
-Heated tack room with private bathroom
-Separate hay storage area to reduce fire hazard, allergies and dust
-Grain storage and feed preparation area
-Off site manure composting for fly and pest control
-Water system that allows us to monitor each horses water intake

Tack Room: Each stall is permitted on tack box, one bridle and one saddle rack. Heated in the winter months and has a bathroom with hot and cold water

Barn Isle: 32 12 x 12 stalls, each with mats, water to each stall to fill buckets (not automatic)

Cottonwood's Stable Rules & Safety policies

Like any facility, here at Cottonwood, we want to keep the environment as safe as possible for everyone that comes on the property! 
We appreciate everyone's cooperation in following all the rules we have set forth to keep our facility as safe and fun for everyone!
-Visitors by appointment only.
-NO SMOKING in or around barns!
-Dogs MUST be leashed and with a human at all times  (Do not tie them up or put them in a stall)
-No children under the age of 12 without supervision.
-Do Not leave horses unattended in the wash stall or indoor arena and please clean up after yourself/your horse if necessary.
-All tack and tack trunks are to be kept in the tack room.
-STALL GUARDS ARE NOT PERMITTED
-All riders MUST have a signed liability release form on file with the stable.
-Please refer to the lesson board to know busy/free times in the arena
-Please clean up after yourselves!
-There will be a $35.00 charge for all returned checks.

Riding Areas

-72' by 140' Indoor with custom mixed sand and chipped rubber footing
-Well lit for dark, cloudy days and nights.
-Dragged and watered as needed
-Polo Field
-Both the indoor arena and field have an assortment of jumps to use.
-200 acres of farm property, all accessible without crossing public roads

Cottonwood has a level outdoor field for  boarders to ride use as they please,  we also have our farm fields that boarders are welcome to ride out on.
(We only ask that boarders are respectful of our fields because they are planted with crops in the spring through fall)
We do ask that if you set up jumps in the indoor that you take them down when you are finished using them. We do allow horses to be turned out in the indoor if they are supervised at all times.

Horses are not to be left unattended in the indoor.

Cottonwood's Arena Rules & Safety Policies

As with the stable rules, the rules we have set forth for the riding areas posted in our indoor are there to ensure we are doing our part to keep everyone riding and working with horses and the horses themselves at Cottonwood as safe as possible!
-Hard hats/helmets are REQUIRED for riders under 18 years old and those riding a horse they do not own. 
-All riders MUST have a signed liability release form on file with the stable. 
-Please refer to the lesson calendar if you wish to avoid busy arena times. *Lesson horses have Right of Way to rail* 
-Please keep obstacles grouped in the center of the arena or in front right corner when not in use. 
-Be courteous while riding with others 
(Pass Left to Left or call outside/inside, give all horses at least one horse length of space at all times) 
-Pick up manure in arena when you are finished working your horse.
-Do Not leave horses unattended in the arena! 
-Do Not allow horses to paw or dig arena footing FOR ANY REASON 
-Please rake after your horse has rolled and rake to fill in any divots left after lunging and/or free lunging or riding if necessary

Cottonwood has a parking lot for boarders which is kept plowed and salted during the winter months.
