Second Show

We had a great second show! While it didn't go the way we planned it, no complaints here!

Sooty per "usual" was a champ standing and tolerating bugs in Halter classes. she wasn't a favorite of the judge this time around but still, the fact she stands solid is SO great for her! she also had her first experience doing showmanship and in-hand trail. Despite some handler errors (oops haha) the filly was perfect all the same!
Misty was a little too strong to successfully show in riding classes, being we only had been practicing one handed for a month, it was to semi be expected. That and it's been about 6 years since she's been off the farm. So a little less brakes then I would have liked, but no being naughty at all.  She fell asleep during her halter class and gave me two second place showmanship patterns. One happy horse mom here!
Bunny had her typical jitters with Kyra, but overall was much more relaxed this show! pinning consistently in the middle top middle of her halter classes!

What a great first outing!

RO Swags Lil Chick, "Sooty", had a perfect first outing! We kept it low key for her first show, going in only Model and Halter classes and this filly rocked it! Stepped right in the trailer and handled the grounds and all the new sights (even met a Mini for the first time!)
With large classes, the stripped filly held her own, setting up basically perfect each time and standing quietly in large classes!
"Sooty" took home three 3rd place ribbons and a 4th place in classes of 11, 15, 18 and an 11 class split of originally 25 horses!

Kyra Laframboise and Batt Mans Gone Cajun, "Bunny" also had their first outing as a team as well! With "Bunny" more nervous in this environment, Kyra also played smart and played safe doing only halter and model classes as well! Placing competitively, Kyra and I were so proud of bunny overcoming her nerves and standing (and falling asleep) quietly in her classes as well! More photos to come!

Will will be back at the Champlain Valley Horse Shows second show July 7th-9th, held at the  Addison County Field Days venue.

20 Years

Today we celebrate the 20 anniversary of our dairy auction. It's been a crazy experience, and wonderful journey and we'd never look back. While we miss a large selection of babies being born regularly, horses have always been something our family has loved and we hope to be able to be producing foals in the coming years as things progress!

When we reflect on the experiences we've had over the last 20 years, we are striving to continue, as all professionals should, to improve the quality of service and improve the experience that clients have at our facility. Our goal is provide the absolute best care to every horse in our stable. We provide all the horses in our care with the safest, most comfortable, calm and healthy environment we can.
From our own produced forage to be included in our feed program, to doing all the daily care for the horses...
We look forward to being able to continue doing what we do better: Keeping horses surrounded with the highest quality, consistent care in all aspects of their life while they are in our facility!

Our newest addition to the facility has been installed and we are excited to be working on getting horses acclimated to it!

Wondering what it is?

Our Equine Treadmill!
While we've owned the treadmill for a few years now, it is FINALLY installed! we are actively working with our personal horses to learn the best way to train horses to use it safely so we can soon offer it as an additional service to our clients! We hope to be able to offer rehabilitation services in the future as well!

Be on the lookout for updates and new projects starting in the spring!

Misty's Second time on the treadmill for training
The RO fillies got to walk on while there was no noise, Misty had the treadmill on without the belt running. Rain and Davey's second time on INCLUDED the treadmilll running AND they learned a bit about walking on it with the belt running. We don't have videos of them walking due to the need to actively be attentive to the horses and machine for safety reasons but they did phenomenally well! We are so proud of all our horses for learning about this with such great trust in us! (We can thank Emily for all their training which is how they all were able to do this so well!)

Horses shedding, lessons and training sessions are getting more "serious" as are appointments with our amazing other body workers! Some horses are starting to prepare for more intense work with light show shoes and some Pulse therapy! Soon we will be scheduling Spring shots, Chiropractic and saddle fitting appointments! Keep an eye out for other fun things that will be happening soon!
(Updates on horses, projects, and potential clinics!)

Yes we are adding to our facility!!
And no, we aren't just adding paddocks to allow more horses more time outside!
(But we are very excited about that!!)
In the next few weeks, our newest project will really be taking shape!
If you already have your horse in our care, you may have heard the news, but if you don't you might want to consider it! (You'll have to keep your eyes open as well to see what's being added!)
We are also jumping into the new year by starting on some housekeeping projects around the stable!
It takes time, but yes, we are actively working to provide everyone at our facility with the highest quality care possible!
