Jeff & Emily Senesac: Facility Owner/Managers
Pictured Above: Emily and Jeff on Emily's wedding day. And yes, she had her wedding at the farm. The indoor was a great venue!
Pictured Right: Jeff and past team roping horse, Ace, at a local open 4H show in the mid 1990's. It's one of the few photos of Jeff on a horse and Ace and Jeff were a great roping pair. Ace was bought by Jeff at an auction in Canada as a green broke youngster and Jeff finished him to be a great all around rope, trail and pleasure riding horse. |
This father daughter team is always on top of ensuring that your horse is happy, safe and healthy. By working together, Jeff and Emily communicate and know the other's strengths to split up tasks as needed around the facility.
Jeff has an extremely wide variety of disciplines in his background including Polo, team roping, fox hunting, and more! While he's not been on horses much in the past years, we look forward to *Hopefully* seeing him enter the show pen this coming season! Emily also has a very wide variety of riding experience in various disciplines as well. From fox hunting, polo, dressage, jumping, western pleasure, and reining. she has ridden with such professionals as Laura Graves, Kaci O'Rourke, Carl Bessette, and Jordan LaPlaca. With the goals of growing her training program, the love and support of her dad and husband, Patrick, the Cottonwood Herd grew by 2 AQHA registered fillies this fall and the goal is to get them showing on the local and AQHA circuit and to eventually get into some ranch/cow working events. The Future Owners
Emily and husband, Patrick, plan on purchasing the family legacy in the future. While Pat owns his own business outside of the farm, he is a friendly and regular face you will see around the stable. He typically cleans the barn with Jeff in the mornings and is a big part in facility upgrades and repairs. All the while managing his concrete cutting business and in the summer is a big part of the "hay team". Together, Emily and Pat have two beautiful daughters, Rosalie and Margaret (Rosie and Maggie) that will hopefully be the future generations of Cottonwood.

The Cottonwood Herd:
Rain:
Rain is the Original Cottonwood horse. While the stable officially opened in September of 2003, Rain was born on the farm May 22 of 2006. She is the first horse Emily trained from start to finish. Rain is a grade Paint x Thoroughbred mare who started her lesson horse career at 6 years old. She is as solid and dependable as you can get. From a kiddo's first pony ride, to polishing up more advanced skills, Rain can teach you everything you need. She's patient with kiddos but will test their skills. And she's particular with more advanced riders, really making sure they know their stuff to get what they are asking for. Misty:
Misty was born February 14 of 2013. Sharing the same sire as Rain, this spitfire mare has a mind to work that is so far unmatched in the group. Misty is a grade Paint mare, she has been used for select lessons as her mindset is to work, and she expects perfection from her rider to set her up for her job, she is not the right fit for every rider. Misty is the second horse Emily trained from start to finish. Emily bought her as a 6-month-old weanling that was not yet halter trained. Davey: Davey is also related to Misty and Rain, with his dam being out of the same stallion. Davey came to the farm as a not halter broke 2 year old grade Quarter Horse stallion. With the goal to have him eventually be a part of the lesson program, he was trained by Emily from halter training to where he is now. He was gelded at 4 years old to ensure he wouldn't be super tall, but would have plenty of body. This goofball is very similar in Rain to temperament. We look forward to putting him in the lesson string this summer! Pictured: Rosie giving Davey some papering on a hot summer day. His attention and patience with little humans will make him a great addition to our lesson string! |
RO Smart Lil Weaver & RO Swags Lil Chick:
"Lily" and "Sooty" were purchased in September of 2022 and are AQHA bred and registered. With the goals of competing in ranch and cow working events, these girls are so well bred and put together for this future. Sooty and Lily are just as beautifully colored and they are in temperament. With minimal handling/training upon their arrival, we are very excited to see these two fillies hit the show pen this summer! With our goals to start a breeding program in the future, we hope these two will eventually become beautiful mommas to some foals in the years to come! |
