Emily's entire life has been dedicated to the equestrian world. She has not only started her own five horses but also assisted others with theirs, showcasing her expertise in all facets of horse training. Her approach goes beyond the norm, rooted in the fundamental principles of horsemanship that form the core of her training program. Her experience spans a range of disciplines, including polo, fox hunting, reining, hunter/jumpers, dressage, and equitation, and she has competed in local shows across both English and Western categories. Emily is adept at helping both you and your horse reach diverse objectives. At present, she is focused on creating a ranch riding and cattle working program, driven by her passion for the educated, adaptable working horse. This program is set to grow over the coming years, with the aim to offer more frequent local and in-home clinics.

Emily's program stands out from most stables because her entire approach is rooted in the belief that horses genuinely try to communicate their feelings. She believes horses deserve to be treated like people. Just like humans, horses can have days when their bodies feel sore—it doesn't mean they can't work, but the approach needs to adapt. Instead of saying, "The horse is being a jerk because they aren't doing ________ today," we should think, "Maybe something feels off, and that's why they're hesitant." This shift in perspective was a game changer for Emily. She noticed how much more effort her horse gave when she truly listened to them. Emily is also actively learning bodywork to help her horses feel their best, allowing them to give their riders or owners even greater effort.
This approach not only keeps horses feeling their best and their humans happy, but it also significantly enhances the safety of working with and riding the horses. It's no surprise that Emily prioritizes listening to the horses rather than blaming them.
